Joel Mathiowetz is a 5th generation farmer near Morgan, Minnesota. He raises Corn, Soybeans, Peas and Lambs. He is owner of Farm Gate Consulting LLC, working with farm families in the transition from one generation to the next, and peer group facilitator. He is also a crop insurance agent and Executive Director of Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation.
He has always had a great passion for agriculture through his involvement in 4-H, FFA, AFA & MARL. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from South Dakota State University in Ag Business. While at SDSU he was involved in Collegiate 4-H, Economics Club, and an Ag/Bio Ambassador.
Joel continues to pursue active leadership roles in the agriculture community. He is past Board member for (MARL) Minnesota Agriculture and Rural Leadership, a MARL alumni, active member in ProAg of Renville County, Redwood Falls Ag Chamber committee, Corn and Soybean Growers Associations, Farm Bureau and AFA Alliance.
His career path has included being an agriculture loan officer, and agriculture consultant. He provided personalized financial, risk management and insurance services to more than 200 farm families.
Joel is married to his beautiful wife Amanda, they have a new son, Leo, and they love to travel in between the “Busy Seasons”.
